It’s Thursday! So Pacers Day!

Pacers is Irving’s very own weekly ‘running club’ when the weather is nice.  The kiddos come out of the school during their lunch/recess time and run around the perimeter of the school [Cuyler to Harvard, Harvard to Ridgeland, Ridgeland to Fillmore, Fillmore to Cuyler and back around].  Three laps around the school equals one mile and a foot charm.

Help us get the kiddos outside and running during lunch/recess.  Running brings many rewarding benefits for kids’ physical, mental and personal development.  It’s also fun and anyone can do it!  If you are available, please consider signing up.

We are adding things to our Google Calendar daily, to help keep track of all of the great things going on. You’ll see short term volunteer opportunities such as Pacers and open to all activities like the Garden Club and all of our DIVINC events too!

Irving Elementary Gender Inclusion Initiative

Our goal is to support families with transgender and gender-expansive children (children who do not feel like they are the gender they were assigned at birth, who do not want to dress or act in ways that are typical with their assigned gender) and promote a culture shift at Irving towards gender inclusiveness.

With the administration’s and Diversity and Inclusion Committee’s support, Irving
Elementary School is partnering with LGBTQ+ equity organizations to create a
more inclusive community.
