Garden Club!

Garden Club Starts This Week

here is a schedule for the spring.

  • 4/26: Garden Club
  •  5/3: special guest Senorita Zaragoza will lead us in a celebration of tamales; we’ll read “May your life be Deliciosa,” sample tamales, and plant some ingredients necessary to make a tamal and accompanying salsa: corn, tomatillos, tomatoes, cilantro, and spicy peppers. (Grown ups, please check in with Alix if your child has any food allergies).
  •  5/10: special guest Irving mom and cicada expert, Nancy Schroeder, will teach us everything we want and need to know about cicadas (bugs we’ll soon see a ton of in Oak Park).
  •  5/17: Oak Park Public Library’s Book Bike will stop by garden club for a fantastic story time, with fun books to check out; and we’ll plant of course!
  • 5/24: No garden club for the holiday weekend.
  • 5/31: last garden club of the spring. Come help send off the garden into summer.

Garden club is every Friday in the spring and fall, at 3pm; it is free and open to all. A grownup must accompany their student. Questions? Email Alix at alix.strunk@gmail.com
