Irving PTO extends our concern, support and best wished to John Aranza and Christine Tully, the owners of Autre Monde. John and Christine are avid supporters of SEOPCO and the Irving PTO. Last week a fire started at the back corner of the restaurant’s kitchen, causing some damage to that corner, as well as knocking out the power supply and communications. That, coupled with the need for some repair to the dining room from water damage, will keep the restaurant closed for an estimated 8 weeks (end of the summer). They are already working with contractors and clean up is underway. They will be posting regular updates on their website and social media:http://www.autremondecafe.net ; http://www.facebook.com/AutreMondeCafe ; Twitter: @autremondcafe
Christine and John say, “although the fire came as a shock, we have been so encouraged by the warmth of our local community with the offers of support and encouragement that have flooded in from fellow businesses, guests & neighbors as well as the many local fire departments that were so quick to respond. We love serving our guest and look forward to getting back to it just as soon as possible. We also would like to thank the local and Chicago restaurant communities who have offered support as well as temporary employment to our staff which has been a great relief to us. All of this outreach has made a difficult time easier on all of us. We are immensely grateful for this.”
