Ovation Academy, which is a sister program to the Bravo Performing Arts Academy is pleased to announce its production of “Urinetown,” (yes that is really the title and no, it cannot be changed).
“Urinetown” is an earnest fable of love, greed and evolution set in a town plagued by drought. A simple enough plot, complete with a villain, hero and romance; a malevolent corporation controls the town’s public amenities; the president’s daughter falls in love with the leader for the pee-for-free rebellion. All of this, according to Little Sally, the show’s ragamuffin philosopher, is a bad subject for a musical (and so is its title), but it’s outrageous fun!
Ovations cast of 20 is comprised of alumni of the Bravo program and high school students from the Oak Park and River Forest community. They are excited to delve into a script that satirically examines a political dialogue and pokes fun at musical theater along the way.
Don’t miss your chance to see this incredible show!

Your child will hopefully come home with a baggie in the next two days for our Summer Box Top Collection Contest. If they do not-there are extra in the red BTFE bin in the front office. You can also use any baggie from home. Here’s the deal:
Over the summer collect as many Box Tops as you can and place them in this baggie. Return the baggie to school during theweek of August 25th with your child’s name and their NEW teacher’s name written on the baggie (no need to write it on every Box Top). Every baggie returned (regardless of the amount inside) will receive a prize! On Friday, August 29th, a drawing will be held from all returned baggies to win an Irving t-shirt! Box Tops can now be found on hundreds of products, not just cereal! Visit btfe.com to see a complete list of Box Tops products!
