On Friday, November 18th, Irving School is having a First Trimester PBIS Celebration All School Fall Team Olympic Day. K-2 grades will be in the morning and grades 3-5 will be in the afternoon. The Frank Lloyd Wright Races attract 2700 participants to Oak Park, and will pass through streets throughout Oak Park on that morning – the 5K Run/Walk starts at 8:00 a.m., the 10K Run is at 8:45 a.m. and the Youth Mile is at 9:00 a.m. You can find a copy of the route map here. I hope the map helps families plan their travel during that morning, and to allow extra time for entering/exiting streets and alleys. This is the 35th anniversary of the Frank Lloyd Wright Races – this popular community event celebrates healthy lifestyles and wellness. We need runners and race course support volunteers for next year. On Friday and Saturday, June 8th and 9th, supporters of the Irving Schoolyard Project will be running the Ragnar Relay from Madison to Chicago in order to raise funding and awareness. This year we are trying to recruit enough parents and community members to allow us to enter two full teams in the relay. Over the course of this 197 mile overnight event, runners will complete 3 separate legs of approximately 10K distance each with each person running a cumulative total of no more than 20 miles.
