Fill up a book of delicious homemade cookies for just $10 a box!!!

BAKERS NEEDED!!!!  Each participating family is asked to prepare 5 dozen of their favorite holiday cookies and deliver them to the office on Friday, December 13th during school hours or to the mini-gym on Saturday, December 14th between 7:30 & 9:00 AM.  NO CHOCOLATE CHIP PLEASE!!!

There will be a free pizza party to the grade that brings in the most cookies!

Jammie Jam – Friday, November 22

Student Council is sponsoring an after school dance to support the Sweet Dreams For Kids Foundation.  This foundation helps provide pajamas for children that have prolonged stays in the hospital.  Please come in your pajamas to help support this awesome cause with us on Friday, November 22 from 6:30 – 8:00 at Irving School!

The cost is $5.00 for your first child and $2 per additional sibling. Parents are free of charge, however, a donation would be greatly appreciated. Entrance fees include one complementary drink and snack.  Every family must have at least one adult present.

Finally, everyone in the school is encouraged to wear their pajamas to during the day on November 22 to help get us excited for the dance!

We look forward to jamming in our jammies with you!

OPEF’s BASE Camp – Gadget Day – Registration is OPEN!!!

OPEF’s BASE Camp – Gadget Day on Monday, January 20th (Martin Luther King Day), is now open for registration! Parents can register here, or download the registration form.
Gadget Day is for all kids in grades K-8 (not just D97 kids), and will run 8 AM – 3 PM at Brooks.
  • K-5th graders will rotate through four fun, 90-minute activities involving LEGOs, sculpture that moves, gym games and 3D games.
  • 6th-8th grade boys and girls can choose Build a Bike, a partner program with Working Bikes, a nonprofit bike repair shop in Chicago. Take a field trip in the morning and create artwork with bike parts in the afternoon!
  • 6th-8th grade girls can also choose Build A Bird, a partnership with Triton College’s GADgET Girls program (Girls Adventuring in Design, Engineering & Technology), designing and building a mechanical bird.
Cost is $65 for K-5th graders, $75 for 6th-8th graders, with a limited number of scholarships available to D97 students. It will be a fun day, full of gadgets, games and gizmos!

This year’s book is going to be amazing! (Fifth Graders will get a book as a gift from the PTO, so no need to order if you have a fifth grader.)

Early Bird Discount:

If you pre-order your 2014 yearbook on or before December 2nd: $15.

After December 2, the price goes up to $20.

Special Discount before Dec. 2:  Get both 2013 + 2014 yearbooks for only $25!

We have some 2013 Yearbooks left.  First come, first served.  When they are gone, they are gone.  Make your checks out to Irving PTO.  Include your child’s name, class year and teacher, how many books you would like and what year(s).  Drop it in the PTO mailbox in the Irving office.
