Ovation Academy, which is a sister program to the Bravo Performing Arts Academy is pleased to announce its production of “Urinetown,” (yes that is really the title and no, it cannot be changed).
“Urinetown” is an earnest fable of love, greed and evolution set in a town plagued by drought. A simple enough plot, complete with a villain, hero and romance; a malevolent corporation controls the town’s public amenities; the president’s daughter falls in love with the leader for the pee-for-free rebellion. All of this, according to Little Sally, the show’s ragamuffin philosopher, is a bad subject for a musical (and so is its title), but it’s outrageous fun!
Ovations cast of 20 is comprised of alumni of the Bravo program and high school students from the Oak Park and River Forest community. They are excited to delve into a script that satirically examines a political dialogue and pokes fun at musical theater along the way.
Don’t miss your chance to see this incredible show!

Form & Fee Night is Thursday, August 14, from 4:30-6:30pm. If you have not already paid your school fees and lunch fees online then bring your checkbook to Irving at this time to do so. The form is available on the District 97 website.
More fun than that, though, is seeing the class assignment lists that are posted. Look outside the school’s front door to see which teacher your child has. Note that the lists will come down that night in order to make some changes. Class lists are not posted online for privacy reasons. (Please do not share photos of a class list on Facebook or other public online setting.)
The school is open on Form & Fee night, so new families can tour around on their own and the kids MIGHT be able to peek in their new classrooms.
Eagle Extras, Irving’s after-school program will have information about Fall Class Offerings, and when registration will begin this year. More details to follow.
Families do not have to stay for the whole time. Just drop by and say hello while you fill out forms, ask any questions of the front office staff or the school nurse, visit the PTO info table and hang out with parents you haven’t seen in a while.
See you soon!
