School Procedures

SCHOOL PICTURE RETAKE DAY IS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13th!

GET YOUR SMILES READY!

PICTURES WILL BE TAKEN IN THE AFTERNOON STARTING AT 1:00 PM.

Only students who were absent on the original picture day, who are new to the school since the original picture day, or those who wish to have their picture retaken should be a part of retake day.  Not all students will be photographed again.

All students who are purchasing pictures for the first time must have their completed order forms in hand to give to the photographer.  Order forms are available in the office.

For students retaking pictures, please provide your child with the original picture package, if possible, so they can return it to the photographer. All retake packages will be complimentary. (You will receive the same type of package that was originally ordered).

Any parents wanting to place an order for pictures after the scheduled retake day will need to contact the Inter-State Studio customer service department at 1-800-952-6450.

Irving phone directory

The Irving phone directory is almost complete.   A green sheet should have come home with your child this week (if more than 1 child, first alphabetically would have received it) and it contains the information that will be in the directory.  IF THERE ARE ANY CORRECTIONS, please return the green sheet immediately.  Also, if you have a 5th grader you have the opportunity to add a ‘tribute’ congratulating them at the end of the directory.  It’s $10 per entry which will go to the PTO to help cover printing expenses.  Please send tributes and questions to barbarametric@comcast.net

Holiday Food and Gift Basket Program (HFGB)

September 14, 2012

Dear Irving Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to a new school year! I hope everyone had a relaxing and fun summer! It is time once again for those who qualify to sign up for the Holiday Food and Gift Basket Program (HFGB). This program provides families who reside in Oak Park and River Forest with a gift card for food around Thanksgiving time and gifts during the December holiday season.

The criteria used to determine who qualifies for HFGB are similar to the guidelines set up by the federal government for free/reduced school lunch. In addition, all applicants must be part of the Irving community (if this is no longer the case the social worker must be familiar with you). If you know of a non-Irving resident who may want to apply, the social worker can direct them to other community locations.

If you are the head of your household and want to apply for this program please contact Kila Bell-Bey at the Irving Social Work office. Scheduling an appointment is the easiest way to ensure that your application gets completed and turned in on time. Stop by or call 708-524-5630. You may also leave a message at 708-524-5830 ext. 6150. I look forward to seeing you and I promise it will be a quick process!

All applications must be completed in a face to face meeting with the social worker by Friday October 12, 2012! Only one application is allowed per household/family and the applicant must sign off as the head of household!

I wish you the best during the 2012-2013 school year!
