Winter Indoor Recess Volunteers Needed!

When the temperature falls below 20◦F, students stay indoors during recess.  They can watch a movie in the auditorium, or they can choose to come to the Community Room to just hang out, play with a few items, draw, etc.  On some days, some classes will be assigned to the gym or perhaps the library.  Due to staffing requirements and safety issues, these are the only choices currently.

WE NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS TO HELP MANAGE THE CROWDS! (and interact with the appreciative and lively students J)

If you can be available between 10:50 – 12:05 even once a month, twice a week, or anywhere in between, we need you.  The weather was prohibitive less than 15 times last year, so some volunteers were not needed.  Others, through their usual generosity, were prevailed upon several times.

PLEASE CONTACT ME TO ADD YOUR NAME TO OUR VOLUNTEER ROSTER.  We need at least four people a day (one in the auditorium, two in the Community Room, one in the gym/library) to work with the staff supervisors.

Over the Winter Break we will begin crafting the schedule, so please examine your January through March calendars and let us know when we could count on you to facilitate a happy winter indoor recess experience.

Cookie Dough Pickup – Monday, December 5th

Mark your calendars!  Cookie dough pickup is next Monday, December 5th, from 3:00-6:30 in the auditorium.  A couple of notes –

  • We cannot store any cookie dough that is not picked up.  Please make other arrangements if you are unable to pick up your items.
  • 2 volunteers are still needed to help with distribution from 4:30-6:30.  If you are available, please sign up at http://www.volunteerspot.com/login/entry/612345634183444061
  • If you missed the fundraiser altogether, extra cookie dough will be available for purchase ($12 each or 2 for $22).

Thank you for helping make this fundraiser a success!  We sold 100 additional items over last year’s fundraiser and we could not have done it without your help.  Ms. Weigel, Mrs. Parkinson, and Mr. Eng’s classrooms were the top 3 selling classrooms and have earned a pizza party!
