Last day of school

Due to the emergency day we used last week in conjunction with the severe weather that descended upon the area, the last day of school for the 2012-2013 school year will now be Friday, May 31. This will be a full day of school for all members of our staff, as well as students in pre-kindergarten through seventh grade. By extending the school year by a day, we will ensure that we meet the state law requiring 176 days of pupil attendance.

Graduation for the middle schools will still be held on Wednesday, May 29 at Oak Park and River Forest High School. The ceremony for Brooks will take place at 5 p.m. and the ceremony for Julian will take place at 7:30 p.m. Eighth grade students will not be required to attend school on May 30 or 31.
