It’s the CAN Do Challenge

This April, we are helping fight hunger with Beyond Hunger in their annual CAN DO Community Challenge, where local schools compete to see who can raise the most points (combination of money and actual food donations). Please support us by joining our team and/or making a donation! For every $1 donated, Beyond Hunger can provide 3 meals!

Items can be donated to the collection box in Irving’s main office throughout the month of April! Below is the list of 10 non-perishable food items worth 5 points each. All food donations will be weighed for a total number of pounds, but only the items below will count towards the competition.
• Jelly
• Peanut Butter
• Canned Chicken Soup
• Cheerios’ Cereal
• Canned Mixed Vegetables (low sodium)
• Diced Tomatoes
• Tomato Paste
• Bagged Rice (White or Brown)
• Refried and Dry Beans (Pinto and Black)
• Canned Pineapples

Beyond Hunger’s off-site pop-up pantry serves newly immigrant families and relies entirely on private donations. Due to the organization’s limits in space and staff/volunteers for sorting, they are asking us to please stick to donations off this list.

Register for Irving’s Got Talent

We’re bringing back a very old Irving Tradition – a Talent Showcase!

The talent show is open to the entire Irving community and will be on April 15 at 1 p.m., right before the Irving Fun Fair. The goal is to raise funds for a new sound system for the Auditorium.

Get your act ready and let us know you want to participate by submitting this form. We are limited by time for the showcase, so please submit your registration by March 10!

Irving Loved Ones Dance

Please join us for this WHOLE FAMILY event at the school gym! All Irving students, staff and their families are invited. As this is an event meant for the whole family, all kids will need a parent or guardian with them. And even though it’s a free event, we need every person attending to reserve a ticket so we can plan food, drinks and space accordingly. It’s going to be tons of fun and we can’t wait to see you there!

Reserve your free tickets here:
