Fall Book Fair!

Find all the details right here on our Book Fair Website! Shop online or in person beginning October 24 and treat yo’ shelf to new books while helping to support Irving school! The in-person fair will be open in the kindergarten hallway until 5pm on Monday & Tuesday and until 7pm on Wednesday & Thursday. Friday will be online only.

But the Book Fair can’t run without volunteers! It’s a small and very rewarding time commitment. Please visit our volunteer sign-up link to see how you can help.

Call for Yearbook Photos

The yearbook comittee needs your help! We are requesting photos from the first day of school, Movie Night and the Fun Run. Please upload your photos to our Google Drive HERE or email them to irving-yearbook@googlegroups.com and we will use as many as we can for this year’s yearbook.

Thanks for your help and please reach out to our yearbook comittee chairs, Elizabeth Holst Schinazi and Isabel Bogarin with any questions or if you’d like to help get involved!

DivInc Meeting

ALL are welcome at our zoom meeting on Wednesday, September 28 at 6:30pm! Irving’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee (“DivInc”) helps to coordinate events and programs that promote a diverse and inclusive educational environment for all Irving students. We are also seeking a Co-Chair for this year; no other school committee experience necessary! Please reach out to Laura Reeb with any interest at divinc@irvingpto.com, and either way, we hope to see you on zoom!

RunTough for Team Owen

This community event is organized by the Family of one of our D97 Mann Mustangs, Owen Petrzelka, who in October 2020 lost his brave 6-month battle against DIPG, the deadliest form of childhood brain cancer. Since 2020, his family has organized a virtual 5K run, in conjunction with the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation, to raise funds for childhood brain cancer research. This year’s 3rd annual virtual 5K run is scheduled for Saturday, October 1 and it’s not too late to sign up! But whether or not you are interested in running, we have great news!! This year, there will be an even bigger community event in order to try to live up to one of Owen’s mottos: “making someone happy is our job”. To that end, on race day, the 900 N Grove block in Oak Park will be turned into a community fun zone where community members, whether they are running or not, can stop by throughout the day for some fun kids’ activities, food/drinks, and live music. Visit the Event Webpage for more details and logistics information.
