Message for families that qualify for free and reduced lunch

On October 1, 2012, all of the free and reduced lunch applications that were submitted by our families last year will expire. In order to ensure that your children will not be required to pay for their meals, we ask that you please complete an application for the 2012-2013 school year prior to the October 1 deadline. This application can be picked up at any of our schools or our central office building, which is located at 970 Madison Street. It can also be accessed online by visiting http://www.op97.org/hr/Forms.cfm.

Irving Fun Run

Today begins a very important, fun, healthy way to raise money for Washington Irving Elementary School.

We want to promote a healthy lifestyle to our students and the community. Please help us reach our fundraising goal by supporting our Fun Run.

o We have teamed up with The Get Movin’ Crew© to make this event fun and profitable.

o Please help us by helping your child raise a total of $30.00 in pledge donations.

o It’s easy! Just help your child gather 3, $10.00 flat pledges or more.

2. Friends and Family want to help your child be successful and share in their achievements. Use your student web page to promote online pledge donations using the email & social media tools right on the web page.

3. Watch your child’s Pledge Meter blast to the top fast! Most credit/debit cards are accepted from anywhere in the world. Check your child’s web page often to see all pledges they’ve received in “real time”.

Forum about Brain Development and the Fast ForWord Program

Dr. Martha Burns will be the guest presenter at a forum about brain development and the Fast ForWord program that is being hosted by the district on Monday, September 24 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the auditorium at Julian Middle School. Learn More >>

 

Community Forum about the Proposed Sharing of Administrative Facilities

Reminder – District 97 and the Park District of Oak Park will holding a community forum tomorrow night about the proposed sharing of administrative facilities between the two districts and the Village of Oak Park, which includes the possibility of constructing a new building on the parking lot south of Village Hall. The forum will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Room 201 at Village Hall (123 Madison Street). Learn More >>

Bags on the Black Top Tournament Needs You!

UPDATE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. If you made a payment, you will be contacted about refunding your money.
Don’t forget to register for our first ever Bags on the Blacktop Tournament.  Registration forms can be found on the digital backpack.  Please return the bottom portion of the flyer with payment to the Irving PTO drop box in the main office.
We need at least 20 teams by Friday, September 21, 2012 for this event to run as scheduled.
