Silent Auction – WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR OUR SILENT AUCTION

On Saturday, February 22nd mark your calendars, as we will once again be having our annual Fun Fair and Silent Auction! It will be a day filled with fun and excitement!

Last year the Silent Auction was huge success because of your direct support in soliciting items and donating items for this event. Once again we need your support for this year’s Silent Auction. Please think about talents, items or services you or your employer could donate. Items that are always popular include:

–Sporting—Cubs, Sox, Bears, Blackhawks and Bulls or theatre tickets

–Museum memberships

–Restaurant certificates/gift cards

–Jewelry

–Use of a vacation home or time share

–Services (i.e. interior design, housecleaning, painting, landscaping, contracting)

–And those holiday gifts you may have received 2 of!!

Anything you like—chances are someone else will want it too!!

HELP!!! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: If you would like to help in soliciting local businesses for donations or can volunteer the day of the event your help would be GREATLY appreciated. Please call or e-mail me!!

The money from the Silent Auction goes directly to the Irving PTO, which continues to fund various programs to enhance the quality of education for our students and teachers. This is why we need your donations.

Donations and/or certificates can be dropped off at the school office or you can contact me directly. Please fill out the information on the back of this letter and include it with your donation. If you have any questions about your donation please call or e-mail me.

Thank you for helping in making the 2014 Fun Fair and Silent Auction a huge success!!

Fundraiser benefiting kids with Leukemia

Tis the Season for Giving and do we have a great cause!  Audrey Smith from Mrs. Balicki’s fifth-grade class is running a fundraiser benefiting kids with Leukemia at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago!

The fundraiser starts Monday December 2nd and runs through Friday December 6th.  There are collection jugs in the Irving office, one representing each class.  Is it a competition you ask?  Yes, it is!  By the end of the week we will see which class raises the most money for childhood leukemia!  A special prize will be donated to the wining class from the Circle of Friends Foundation at Lurie Childrens!  So have your kids bring in all those loose coins laying around your house, and lets see which class can raise the most money for leukemia!

And parents, you can get involved too!  Checks will also be accepted and can be made out to “Lurie Childrens Foundation”.  There is a form available for tax purposes if needed.  Per Audrey’s request, half of the money collected will go to the Child Life Department and used directly for the hospitalized kids, and the other half will be donated to cancer research.

Thank-you in advance from Audrey and her “team” and thank-you from the Lurie Children’s Circle of Friends Foundation!
