Playgrounds are closed

IMPORTANT NOTICE: By the order of the State of Illinois, all District 97 playgrounds are CLOSED until further notice.

It has come to our attention that residents are still visiting our school playgrounds. According to the state order, playgrounds pose a high risk of transmission for the COVID-19 virus. We all must do our part—please help us keep our community safe and healthy by following the state’s stay-at-home order.

Outdoor exercise like running or taking a walk is perfectly acceptable, but you should still practice social distancing by running or walking at least six feet away from other people.

We appreciate your cooperation!

Virtual Garden Club Thursday 3/19 2pm

From Denise Frank:

Hey all! All this inside time is making me itchy to start gardening and, guess what?, it’s not too early!

Join us tomorrow, Thursday, March 19th, at 2:00 p.m. for the very first ever VIRTUAL GARDEN CLUB!  On our Facebook Group:

We are going to read the book “Little Pea” and talk about planting sugar snap peas. Even if you live in an apartment, you can grow peas so long as you have a space to put a pot in the full sun. They are great container plants! No pot? No worries! You can also plant them directly in the ground. No seeds? No problem! We will drop off a seed to your house. It will be pre-soaked and wrapped in a wet paper towel, good to go for when you’re able to put it in a cozy, dirt bed.

If you own the book, “Little Pea,” be sure to bring it to read along with me.

I look forward to “seeing” you there!
