Oak Park Education Foundation Open House, Saturday, January 28th

The Oak Park Education Foundation is having an Open House on Saturday, January 28, in the Julian Commons, from 10 am – noon, to showcase our programs, and we’re looking for people to help. Please let me know if you’d like to help kids do hands-on projects, or if you know someone else who can help.

The event will overlap with our middle school Vex Robotics competition, which takes place in the Julian gym. The idea is to show off our programs and have parents get to know us while their kids are participating in fun projects. They’ll have a chance to:

  • Design & build with LEGOs
  • Create Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired window designs
  • Operate a Vex robot
  • Build a pocket totem sculpture
  • Experiment with EPA Scientists

During the morning they can also stop by the gym to see the Vex Robotics competition, or take a break at our “Competition Cafe.” The event is free and designed for kids ages 5-12.

We’ll have someone in charge of each project, but need some helping hands. If you’re available to help, please let me know!  Margaret Massarello <mmassarello@op97.org>
