Irving Pacers is back

Irving Pacers is a recess activity for students who choose to walk or run around the block. This is an optional activity for the Friday recesses during the fall and spring.

Weather permitting, we will be offering this activity on the following Fridays: September 20, 27, October 4, 18, 25 and November 1,8, 15,and 22. We will have adults stationed at several spots around the block to supervise and cheer students on. We will also have water cups available in front of the school at the punch station. Students are invited to bring their own water bottles. This is a great activity to promote exercise and wellness.

We are looking for 12 volunteers for each week from 11 AM 12 PM. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact me at hanoconnor@gmail.com. Please contact myself or Mr. Hodge if you have questions.

FLYER

5th Grader Tribute in Irving Phone Directory

Interested in putting a tribute to your 5th grader in the Irving Phone Directory?  Wonder what a 5th grade tribute is?  How much does it cost?
Please read the FLYER for details!  Deadline is THIS FRIDAY so don’t delay!

To all 5th grade Parents:  We think it would be memorable to include tributes in this year’s phone directory to your 5th grader before they go off to Julian Middle School next year. The tribute could say anything you like such as: “Great work Joe!  You’re the big kid now!  Have a wonderful year.   Love Mom and Dad”.  The cost is $10 and will go to the Irving PTO.  All of the tributes will be printed in the back of the phone directory.  Please consider placing a tribute to your fifth grader and making their last year at Irving memorable.

Tributes should be sent by this Friday September 20th to be included in the directory.  Please e-mail your tributes to Barbara Metric at barbarametric@comcast.net. Tributes should be no longer than 2 lines (about 15 words/line).  Please send payment (cash or checks accepted) to school with your child in an envelope labeled “5th grade directory tribute”.  Checks should be made out to Irving PTO.

Irving’s Birthday Book Club

Be a part of Irving’s Birthday Book Club!  Help support the library and increase our collection of books by donating a book on your child’s birthday.  Fill out the Birthday Book Form and send in $17.00 to purchase a brand new book as a gift to the library.  Your child will get to check the book out first, have a name plate put in the front of the book, get their picture hung in the library with the book and help the library grow!  Please see the attached form for more information.   You can also find the form in Irving’s Digital Backpack.
