Dancing for Desserts Donations Needed

Dancing for Desserts is a hugely popular game at the Fun Fair, and its success depends on many dessert donations. It’s the same idea as the old Cake Walk you may have done at school. The winning numbers get to take home a dessert.

WE NEED YOUR DONATIONS AND/OR YOUR VOLUNTEER TIME: You can drop off desserts (home made or store bought is fine) in the Community Room starting at 9am the morning of the Fun Fair – February 22.

All desserts need to be nut free, unless clearly marked.  We are unable to return serving plates or trays (boxes from Costco work great for this!).

One item, or prize, would consist of one of the following:

12 Cupcakes or 12 bars or 24 cookies or 1 cake or 1 pie

IF YOU ARE WILLING TO BRING A DONATION or VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME, PLEASE USE SIGN UP GENIUS HERE!

Any questions, email Lori McConnell

Thanks so much, and see you at the Fun Fair!

National Drug Facts Week! Shatter the Myths

Join IMP.A.C.T, SADD and the OPRF Parent Connection as we Shatter the Myths of Teen Drug and Alcohol Use

Monday, January 26th
6:30 – 9 pm
Oak Park & River Forest High School, North Cafeteria 201 N. Scoville Avenue

Perceptions of risk and use of youth drinking and drug use among students and parents have an impact on current and future use. On January 26th, we’ll try to shatter some of the myths and engage parents and students in open and honest dialogue about the realities of substance use and its consequences.

Keith Bullock, LCSW, CADC will provide some insights and will guide discussion among participants. Keith is an Oak Park parent and the Student Assistant Coordinator at Downers Grove North High School.

Parents and students are invited and encouraged to attend. It is a great opportunity to begin and/or continue important converstions. All are welcome, but reservations are requested. Please RSVP at http://tinyurl.com/RSVP-Jan26

Onsite childcare will be available and refreshments will be served.

We hope to see you there!
