CAST Performs “Ballet Shoes”

The CAST performing arts program at Julian Middle School continues to celebrate its 30th anniversary with the performance of “Ballet Shoes” at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 and 21.

“Ballet Shoes” is a children’s novel by Noel Streatfeild from 1936. It tells the story of three adopted sisters, each of whom is discovered as a baby by an elderly, absentminded paleontologist and professor during his world travels.

Tickets may be purchased in advance through the CAST website, www.op97.org/CAST, or at the door. For more information, please contact Kathy Simon at 708-524-7848 or ksimon@op97.org. Julian is located at 416 S. Ridgeland Ave. in Oak Park.

PTO Volunteer Appreciation Event

Mark your calendars for the PTO Volunteer Appreciation event on Saturday, February 27!  Irving’s own Amy Dean will lead a free yoga class in the Irving gym at 9 a.m., followed by a light breakfast.  This event is open to all, whether you’ve volunteered in the past or are interested in learning about how you can get involved with volunteering in the future.  Bring your yoga mat (or a beach towel) and join us to unwind, connect with your neighbors, and celebrate the Irving community’s commitment to volunteering!
