Trivia Night Volunteers NEEDED!!

The Trivia Night Committee needs volunteers to transport chairs and tables to the Wire on Thursday 11/7 at 1 pm and from the Wire to Irving at 1 pm on Friday 11/7. Please email Mr. Sak at nsakellaris@op97.org if you can help as soon as possible.

Also, anyone that ordered from the Irving Online Store can pick up their stuff from Mr. Sak’s room (Room 309) this week after school.

Irving Gardening Group Needs Your HELP!!!

Come help out with the Irving Garden this Friday, Nov. 7th and/or Saturday, Nov. 8th!

Even though it’s fall, there is still plenty to do. Join us on Friday at 3PM to plant garlic and harvest herbs and on Saturday at 9:30 to plant radishes and continue harvesting herbs. Meet up at the Garden, located at the south end of the building and bring a trowel if you have one! Ideal activity for kids and parents. Irving School Alumni in Julian’s Fall Musical

Julian Middle School’s CAST program will perform its fall musical, Once on This Island, at 7:30 p.m. on November 14th and 15th and at 2 p.m. on November 16th. Join us on Saturday, November 15 at 6:30 p.m. for the pre-show Taco dinner and receive priority seating! Tickets to both can be found here:

Once on This Island is a calypso-flavored re-telling of The Little Mermaid and will feature lively song-and-dance numbers, a performance by the Julian Choir, and live drumming by Jean-Christophe Leroy, a versatile percussionist/drummer who specializes in Cuban, West African, Brazilian and other Afro-Caribbean styles of music.

Performances will be in the Julian Auditorium at 416 S. Ridgeland Ave., Oak Park. Tickets are available in advance through the CAST website, www.op97.org/CAST, or may be purchased at the door. For more information, please contact Kathy Simon at 708-524-7848 or at ksimon@op97.org.

Once on This Island, which was written by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (the team also responsible for Seussical and Ragtime), delivers melody, love and joy in tropical abundance.

Trivia Night 2014 at the Wire

ARE YOU READY?!?!

Trivia Night 2014 is right around the corner. It is not too late to register! We are still creating teams so sign up as couples, individuals or just come and enjoy the fun!

This is an event you don’t want to miss!

The doors will open at 6:00 (in case you would like to scope out the perfect table spot). Cash bar will be available between 6:00 and 7 pm.

Valet parking will be available.

Open Bar for assorted beer, wine and Soda will run from 7-10 pm.

Be prepared for a Mexican Feast, provided by local favorite Taco Yo. Menu will include: Mini Burritos (Steak, Chicken, Veggie and Pork), Mini Flautas (Chicken and Steak), Quesadillas* (Cheese and Chicken), Tamales (Pork and Veggie), Rice, Salad, Chips, Salsas & Guacamole. Dessert to follow: Flan and Platano Frito. (* denotes made with corn tortillas)

This year, in addition to fun, food and trivia, please come prepared to participate in the numerous raffle opportunities! We will once again have a “Split the Pot” raffle. Tickets will be on sale from 7-8 pm and again from 9:30-10 pm. Tickets will be $1 for 1, $5 for 6 and $20 for your wingspan!

Table raffles will be happening throughout the evening. $10 per entry enters your entire table to win a prize. Increase your chances of winning by entering up to 6 times per raffle round!

Last, but certainly not least, enter to win 2 Tickets to a Blackhawks Game. Raffle Tickets will be on sale between 8 – 10 pm. Raffle tickets cost $10 for 1 and $20 for 3.
