Principal Carter Earns Administrator Award

Principal Sheila Carter from Hatch School has earned the Administrator Award from the Illinois Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. You can read more about this accomplishment by clicking here.

 

District 97 Teachers Nominated for Golden Apple Award

Three District 97 teachers have been nominated for a 2012 Golden Apple Award, including:

  • Cristina Arroyo, a kindergarten teacher at Irving School
  • Marvin Childress, a first grade multiage teacher at Lincoln School
  • Elizabeth Chase Vivas, a kindergarten teacher at Lincoln School

Middle School Jazz Ensembles Performing at Fitzgerald’s

The Brooks and Julian Jazz Ensembles will be opening up for the Pete Ellman Big Band at Fitzgerald’s Nightclub (6615 Roosevelt Rd in Berwyn) on Sunday, November 20, 2011. You can access additional information about this performance by clicking here.

All District 97 schools, the administration building and the warehouse will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2011 in honor of Veteran’s Day.

Information from the Village of Oak Park

Free dental sealants are available to Oak Park children whose families meet guidelines for participating in the free or reduced school meal program and who do not have health insurance. The program is funded by a grant through the Illinois All Kids healthcare program. Sealants usually are applied at ages six and 12 years when the first and second molars appear.
