IMPORTANT No Parking Zones WILL BE ENFORCED

Dear Irving Families,

I am writing to let you know that traffic congestion problems, parking in the bus loading zone, and dropping off/picking up students from a vehicle on Cuyler persist.  Additionally, the  crosswalk of Harvard and Cuyler  is becoming increasingly  unsafe due to the high volume of traffic and drop off/pick up traffic patterns.  I am writing to give you a “heads up” that I have contacted the Oak Park Police Department and there will be an officer present from time to time to assist with these issues.  However, I have been told there will be  “ZERO TOLERANCE” for driving/parking infractions and tickets will be issued.

Below is a link of pick off and drop of guidelines that I have shared throughout the year.  Please keep these tips in mind to avoid a costly ticket.  https://irvingpto.com/2015/03/01/reminder-no-parking-zones/

Thanks in advance for your assistance in helping to  keep our students, families and staff safe.

FINAL Days of Classroom Coin Challenge

Classroom Coin Challenge
Do you want to win books for your class?  Suggest books for Ms. Noonan to pick for our library? Help give children in our community their first books?  Then get ready for the

Classroom Coin Challenge!

Monday, April 13 – Thursday, April 16

Bring your loose change to your class next week and compete to see which homeroom can raise the most money!

The winning class will get to come to the Book Fair with their teacher the week of April 20th and use some of the funds raised to pick out books for their class and make some suggestions to Ms. Noonan for books for her to pick out for our library.  Should we get more mystery books?  More sports books?  You get to decide!  These books will get a bookplate honoring the winning class.

Students will also help to select books that our school will donate to Parenthesis Family Center–a local  group that provides a variety of programs to families with young children.  In addition, Scholastic Books will match our monetary donation by giving books to two non-profit organizations, Kids in Need Foundation and Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc.  These organizations help schools and libraries in both impoverished areas and areas destroyed by natural disasters, such as the Oklahoma and Missouri cities affected by recent years’ tornados.

NO FOREIGN COINS, PLEASE
