Registration Details:

  • No Class Days: When you register, please note the no class days. These include no classes the weeks of Parent/Teacher conference in both October and February because of conflicting schedules, the week of Thanksgiving Break, and the week of Spring Break. Eagle’s Bridge WILL BE AVAILABLE on those scheduled off dates when school is open—register for each day you need!
  • Registration Troubles: If you are unable to use the online registration system, please let us know via email (eagleextras@irvingpto.com) and we will make other arrangements.
  • Limited Space/Waitlist: Space is limited and classes are filled on a first come first serve basis. Please register early to reserve your child’s spot in the class(es). Also please utilize the wait list option if a class is showing as full when you try to enroll. We will do our best to accommodate all interested, and while we cannot make guarantees we are sometimes able to expand classes.
  • Cancellations: Classes with an outdoor component may be canceled due to inclement weather.  Please be advised that efforts will be made to make up the missed time when feasible. Refunds will not be issued for classes canceled due to weather. Classes that have to be canceled due to an instructor emergency or illness will be handled on a case by case basis.
  • Late registrations will not be accepted. The parent volunteers need time to assemble class rosters for the on-site coordinators, teachers, instructors and office staff. We are not able to accommodate changes in the schedule after the registration period is over. Questions? Please contact eagleextras@irvingpto.com.
  • Payment plans! When you are registering you can elect to participate in a payment plan at no additional cost to you! Hooray!
  • Snacks: *New this session* Eagle Extras and Eagles Bridge will provide a snack for each child (raisins, pretzels, fish crackers, or similar), included in the price of your child’s class. You may of course send a different or additional snack with your child on Eagle Extras / Bridge days.

Logistics

  • Please notify your child’s teacher that they are participating in Eagle Extras. We provide a list to teachers as well. For those children enrolled in Eagle Extras, they will be directed to go to the auditorium at the end of the school day by their teachers (you do not need to come to the school to take them to this class).
  • Once in the auditorium, they will wait with supervision to be picked up by their Eagle Extras teacher. Kids enrolled in the after school programs of Hephzibah or Oak Park Friends School can participate in Eagle Extras and just need to check in with their respective programs before going to the Eagle Extras class.
  • For kids in other after school programs, you need to check with those programs directly to see if they can make accommodations to pick up your child once their Eagle Extra class is over.

Scholarships

Eagle Extras:

  • Scholarships are available! If your child qualifies for free/reduced lunch you are eligible for one scholarship per session per child for Eagle Extras.  If your child does not currently qualify for free/reduced lunch, but you have a financial hardship making it difficult to pay for a class, there are additional funds available for these circumstances as well.
  • Free/Reduced Lunch: If you already have qualified for free/reduced lunch, you will receive an email from Ms. Mura with a list of codes that will enable you to sign up for a class for free. While these codes you receive will work on all Eagle Extras classes, your student is only eligible for one class per session*. If you have more than one student at Irving, each student is eligible for one Eagle Extras class per session. Please do not use the codes to enroll in more than one Eagle Extras class per session. You will be asked to pay for additional classes.
  • Not qualified for Free/Reduced Lunch, but have a financial hardship? If you are in need of financial help and are not currently qualified for free/reduced lunch, please email Ms. Mura, smura@op97.org, requesting a scholarship so she can get you the assistance needed to register your child for Eagle Extras.
  • There is one exception to the one class per session rule:  Due to the cost and time commitment of the class, students are eligible for only one scholarship per school year for the IAA@Irving-Musical Theater and/or Intro to Theater classes. This can be divided into a 50% scholarship per session if the family prefers.

Eagles Bridge:

  • Scholarships for Bridge are available and tied to paid enrollment. The program must have a minimum number of enrollments in order to run. If you qualify for free and/or reduced lunch or are otherwise experiencing financial hardship, please email Principal Mura at smura@d97.org to be put on the wait list for a scholarship spot. Scholarship spots will be released and distributed based on enrollment numbers on a rolling basis for a given program day.

Please reach out to eagleextras@irvingpto.com if you have questions.

About Eagle Extras & Eagle’s Bridge

The PTO supports TWO unique and complementary after-school programs throughout the year: Eagle Extras and Eagles Bridge. Together these programs ensure year-round enrichment opportunities for the full school year— when Eagle Extras are not in session, you can count on Eagles Bridge, and vice versa providing year-round after school coverage you can count on.

Eagle Extras

Eagle Extras is a structured enrichment program run by the PTO that offers a wide variety of after-school classes for Irving students. From arts to sports, coding to crafting, these classes are taught by Irving teachers and outside partners who bring expertise and energy to each session.

  • Two sessions will be offered this year: Fall/Winter and Winter/Spring
  • Each session runs for multiple weeks (usually 10-13 weeks per session), held after school
  • Caregivers will register for individual classes when registration opens
  • Scholarships and financial assistance are available

Eagles Bridge

Between Eagle Extras sessions, the PTO runs Eagles Bridge – our creative and flexible “bridge” programming that provides after-school coverage with a focus on play, arts, and community building. Eagles Bridge is perfect for families who need consistent care or want something a little more relaxed between enrichment sessions.

  • Programming is arts- and play-based for students in K-5
  • Students can register for and attend only the days of the week you need, depending on your family’s needs
  • Runs until 5pm each day
  • Scholarships and financial assistance are available on a limited basis
