Irving 6th Annual Swap Shop & Read

Thursday, May 8th, 6:00 – 7:30 pm

We would like families to donate new or gently used books that can be swapped. For each book you donate you will receive a coupon for a “new/used” book to take home with you.  We have a limit of 7 coupons per child, but more donations are always welcome. Start looking through your book collections for books that you would like to donate. Please insert an exchange slip inside each book when you send it to school. We will collect all the books and have them ready to swap at our Family Reading Night.

***PLEASE HAVE ALL DONATIONS TURNED IN TO YOUR CLASSROOM TEACHER BY THURSDAY, MAY 1 ***

Irving Tasty Dog Raffle Tickets at Irving Book Fair Today

Please consider signing up for a one-hour time slot to sell tickets at Tasty Dog next Wednesday, April 30th. Pair up with your kid, it’s a fun job for them. I am mostly looking for people between the hours of 3:00 and 7:00, but filling all time slots would be great.

Also, I’ll be popping into the book fair to sell tickets on Wednesday evening, so you can buy your raffle tickets then, and also sign up for a volunteer slot if you like.

The hard copies went into the Teacher’s mailboxes late last week, hopefully you got yours! Feel free to send the form back at your convenience if you would like to buy tickets that way.  Please see the attached flyer/form for a list of the fantastic prizes. Use the link below to sign up to volunteer.

Thanks!

Yo quiero libros! Vamos a leer! I want books! Let’s go read!

An amazing selection of books is headed our way! Teacher wish lists will be available at the sale to help build classroom libraries. Our profits from the book sale help create an amazing school library!

If you can’t make it to our fair, the online book fair runs from April 21- May 11. It’s a great way to stock up on summer reading or find a special gift for a special teacher!

We need volunteers to help work the fair during classroom preview hours and the sale. We’d love to have you, even if you only have 45 minutes to spare at dismissal!

Milk Jugs Needed for Book Fair Classroom Coin Challenge

The Book Fair is coming up the week of April 21st, and there are some great things planned! Stephanie Hartman is still in need of about 17 empty, clean gallon milk jugs in order to collect coins from students for the Book Fair Classroom Coin Challenge.

Make room in your recycle bin and drop off jugs in the school office by this Thursday.

Thanks – and stay tuned for volunteer opportunities during Book Fair Week!
